I stayed at this hotel for two nights at the end of a ten day trip to Norway. Although the exterior is not the nicest, as soon as you step inside it is a very nice looking hotel with a friendly atmosphere. Also, the location is amazing - it is within the central square and on the main high street. Although Hamar is not a huge tourist destination, I spent over a week there and did not get bored. There is plenty to do if the weather is good and it's only an hour by train to Oslo.
The hotel was recommended to me by a local friend and I had a very good stay with no problems at all.
My room was one of the best rooms I have ever stayed in. I had booked for a single room but it felt more like an apartment! It was absolutely huge with two beds, a wardrobe, a lounge area with a sofa and two armchairs, a desk, minibar and TV, and a good bathroom with a shower.
The breakfast was very good with a huge choice and the wifi is free and works well. The TV has very good channels, the housekeeping was super and I didn't feel disturbed with noise even though my room overlooked the square. Only negative was the wetroom bathroom which was horribly slippy after having a shower.
The hotel lobby doesn't have a socialising area which is a shame but there is a good restaurant, bar and nightclub all on the ground floor. This is probably the best hotel in Hamar and I would recommend it!
