The hotel appears to be quite new and at the time of my most recent stays at the hotel there is still work being done on the outside areas around the hotel. Make no mistake though, this work is nothing that will disturb you during your stay. The hotel functions as a local culture(?) and conference center and has a very good restaurant on the ground floor. A friendly and very welcoming staff are at hand and have so far done their utmost to assist me in any questions or troubles I have had during my stays in Ulstein.
The rooms appear VERY nice. All rooms are bright welcoming rooms, spacious, well furnitured and with very comfortable beds.
There are standard rooms, but the hotel also offers higher standard suites for those than plan bigger occasions or just feel the need to splurge.
I always find these rooms warm and spotlessly clean.
This hotel is probably the only option to stay in Ulstein unless you know the locals. But in comparison with many other local and only available hotels, this hotel keeps the big city standard that should be expected. I love the hotel, but I only "like" the restaurant... Don't misunderstand, it is a great restaurant, I have simply dined in too many hotel restaurants these past two years and I am tired of that kind of food :P
